Oh hey!
I am a Vancouver-based illustrator and I love creating illustrated maps, joyful GIFs, and murals that celebrate community. Past and current clients include: Pacific Solutions Contracting, Field & Social, Low Tide Properties, the Canadian Embassy, Article and the BC Women’s Health Association. My work has been published in Flow Magazine, Libelle Magazine and other (online) publications.
Growing up in The Netherlands, drawing at the dinner table was a favourite activity and I would get frustrated every time I tried to draw a bicycle - ironically, they’re very hard to get right.
I moved to Vancouver in 2000 to study Film and Television at SFU for a semester or two, which turned into two decades, and counting! I started my career at CTV as a production coordinator, then worked in development for television and as an associate producer at CBC. A short stint back in Holland gave me the opportunity to switch to writing. I freelanced for lifestyle magazines and wrote kids novels for a Dutch publisher. In 2018, I decided to fully embrace my love of drawing as an illustrator.
In my free time you can find me catching up with books I need to read for book cub, schlepping my three kids to the activities they’re passionate about and spending as much quality time as I can with my family and my best friends in the world.
